Robert Trebor
Robert Trebor, born on June 7, 1953, in Philadelphia, began his acting journey with minor roles before gaining momentum in the 1980s. His early film credits included appearances in Gorp (1980), and the acclaimed films Turk 182 and The Purple Rose of Cairo (both in 1985). Trebor's career took a significant turn when he portrayed David Berkowitz, the infamous Son of Sam serial killer, in the CBS telefilm Out of the Darkness (1985). This pivotal role set the stage for further success, as he shared the screen with Roy Scheider and Ann-Margret in John Frankenheimer’s 52 Pick-Up (1986).
Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Trebor continued to build his filmography with notable performances in Making Mr. Right (1987), Talk Radio (1988), and Universal Soldier (1992). He also made guest appearances on popular television series such as Miami Vice, Murphy Brown, and Baywatch.
However, it was his portrayal of Salmoneus, a charming yet morally ambiguous salesman, in the 1995-1999 action series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys that became his defining role. Trebor's character appeared in nearly 20 episodes during the show’s run and he later reprised this role in the spin-off series Xena: Warrior Princess.
In the 2000s, Trebor shifted back to film, with roles in projects like Dying on the Edge (2001), Jiminy Glick in Lalawood, and The Devil’s Rejects (2005). His final on-screen appearance was as a producer in the Coen brothers' Hail Caesar! (2016), marking a diverse and accomplished career in entertainment.
