L. David Syms-Greene (February 22, 1921 – April 7, 2003), known as David Greene, was a distinguished British television director hailing from Manchester, England. In 1953, he made the significant decision to emigrate to Toronto, Canada, where he honed his skills in television production at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) before ultimately relocating to Hollywood, California.

Greene's artistic journey commenced in the theater, where he worked as both an actor and director starting in 1948. His early film career included a role in the 1950 feature, The Wooden Horse. However, it was in the realm of television that Greene truly made his mark. He garnered acclaim for his innovative direction in various television series and films, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the industry.
