Petra Morzé
Petra Morzé, born Petra Kogelnig on October 10, 1964, in Klagenfurt, Carinthia, is a distinguished Austrian actress known for her compelling performances on stage and screen. Growing up as the eldest of seven siblings in Ernsdorf near Staatz, she harnessed her passion for acting by training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Her career took off at Schauspielhaus Graz, followed by significant roles at Volkstheater and Theater in der Josefstadt.
From 2002 until the conclusion of the 2018/19 season, Morzé was a prominent member of the Vienna Burgtheater ensemble, where she showcased her versatility in a range of productions. Additionally, she made notable appearances at prestigious events such as the Salzburg Festival and Reichenau Festival.
Morzé's television career features acclaimed series, including her notable role in "Kommissar Rex" and as the titular character in "Polly Adler." She has also made her mark in film with performances in "Antares" (2004), "Karo und der liebe Gott" (2005), and "Nordwand" (2007). Interestingly, she made her film debut in 1985 under her birth name, playing Dana in "Eis am Stiel Part 6 - Ferienliebe."
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Petra Morzé is a mother of two children with fellow actor Stefan Matousch. Her stage name is derived from her mother's maiden name, adding a personal touch to her professional identity.
