Yui Aragaki
Yui Aragaki, born on June 11, 1988, in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, is a multifaceted talent known for her work as an idol, model, actress, singer, and occasional radio host. She rose to prominence following her standout performance in the 2007 romantic drama "Koizora" (Sky of Love), which was a commercial success and solidified her status in the entertainment industry.
Aragaki's journey began at the tender age of 13 when she won the Grand Prix award in an audition for the junior fashion magazine Nicola. Her modeling career flourished, setting a record with 15 cover appearances. Nicknamed "Gakki" by fellow model Ayako Enomoto, she quickly became a beloved figure in Japanese pop culture. At 15, she relocated to Tokyo to attend Horikoshi High School, a well-known institution for future stars.
In 2005, she transitioned from modeling to acting with a role in the popular TBS drama "Dragon Sakura," which marked the start of her successful acting career. She continued to earn acclaim in various dramas, including "My Boss, My Hero" and "Gal Circle." Her performance in "Koizora" earned her the Nikkan Sports Film Award for Best Newcomer, one of five newcomer awards she has received.
