Asia Argento
Asia Argento, born Aria Maria Vittoria Rossa Argento on September 20, 1975, is a multifaceted Italian talent known for her work as an actress, singer, model, and filmmaker. She hails from a creative lineage; her mother is actress Daria Nicolodi, and her father, Dario Argento, is a renowned director and screenwriter celebrated for his contributions to the giallo genre and modern horror films. Her artistic roots extend to her great-grandfather, composer Alfredo Casella.
Argento's acting career began early, at just nine years old, when she appeared in a film by Sergio Citti. By age ten, she had already landed a role in her father's film, Demons 2, and continued to act in various projects, including La Chiesa at 14 and Trauma at 18. Her talent earned her two David di Donatello awards, one in 1994 for Perdiamoci di vista and another in 1996 for Compagna di viaggio, the latter also garnering her a Grolla d'oro.
In 1998, she ventured into English-language cinema with films like B. Monkey and New Rose Hotel. That same year marked her directorial debut with the short films Prospettive and A ritroso, showcasing her versatility. Argento continued to direct and act, notably in the action film XXX in 2002 and her second feature, The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, in 2004, further establishing her as a prominent figure in the film industry.
