Sergei Bezrukov

Sergei Vitalyevich Bezrukov, a distinguished Russian actor, is celebrated for his extensive work on both stage and screen. Born into an artistic family, with his father being the actor Vitali Bezrukov, he graduated from the prestigious Moscow Art Theatre. Bezrukov made his film debut in "Nocturne for Drum and Motorcycle" and has since become a prominent figure in Russian cinema since 1994, showcasing his versatility through a variety of roles.

Some of his most notable performances include Ivan Brilling in "Azazel," the titular character in "Vysotsky: Thank You for Being Alive," Sergei Yesenin in "Yesenin," and Sumarokov in "The Strict Routine Vacations." He has also lent his voice to significant characters, notably voicing Prince Vladimir in an animated feature and participating in the popular televised puppet show "Kukly."

Throughout the early 2000s, Bezrukov gained acclaim for his portrayals of iconic Russian literary figures, including the esteemed poet Alexander Pushkin. His popularity peaked when he was named Russia's favorite actor in a 2005 ROMIR Monitoring survey. However, his career has not been without controversy; in March 2014, he attracted attention for endorsing President Vladimir Putin's actions in Crimea. Bezrukov continues to be a prominent member of the Tabakov Studio, further solidifying his legacy in the Russian performing arts.
