Matias Varela
Matias Varela, born on June 23, 1980, in the Katarina parish of Stockholm, is a notable Swedish-Spanish actor with roots in Galicia. His acting career began with a prominent role as Miguel "Mischa" Zantos in the Swedish television series Nya tider, which aired from 2000 to 2001.
After a decade-long hiatus from the screen, Varela made a significant return to acting in the acclaimed film Snabba Cash, portraying Jorge Salinas Barrio. He reprised this role in the sequels Snabba Cash II and Snabba Cash – Livet deluxe, earning nominations for the prestigious Guldbaggen Awards for his performances in both films. Additionally, he showcased his talent in the Arne Dahl film series, where he played the character Jorge Chavez.
In 2013, Varela broadened his international profile by joining the cast of the popular series The Borgias as Ferdinand II of Naples. This paved the way for more prominent roles in Hollywood, including parts in the action-packed films Point Break and Assassin's Creed.
