Rosy Varte (November 22, 1923 – January 14, 2012) was a prominent French actress of Armenian heritage, whose impressive career spanned over six decades and included nearly 100 film and television roles, beginning in 1949.

Born Nevarte Manouelian in Istanbul, Turkey, she moved to France at a young age, where she quickly made her mark in the entertainment industry. Varte gained acclaim for her performance in the 1972 film *The Bar at the Crossing*, which was showcased at the 22nd Berlin International Film Festival. Additionally, she lent her voice to characters in animated Westerns, such as "Lulu Carabine" in *Daisy Town* (1971) and "Miss Worthlesspenny" in *La Ballade des Dalton* (1978).

One of her most notable achievements came from her role as Maguy Boissier in the beloved television series *Maguy*, where she starred in 333 episodes from 1985 to 1993. Her performance earned her the prestigious 7 d'Or award for Best Actress in 2007.

Rosy Varte passed away on January 14, 2012, at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, at the age of 88. Her death was attributed to complications from bronchitis that developed into a lung infection, as confirmed by her husband, director Pierre Badel. Varte's legacy as a vibrant figure in French cinema endures through her extensive body of work and the joy she brought to audiences.
