Plot
In "My Uncle Benjamin," the spirited young doctor Benjamin is infatuated with Manette, the charming daughter of an innkeeper. However, Manette is reluctant to accept his love without a marriage contract, which clashes with Benjamin's desire for independence. His sister Bettine pushes him to consider a match with Arabelle, the daughter of Dr. Minxit, but he reluctantly agrees to meet her. When Bettine discovers Benjamin with Manette, their plans are interrupted by the domineering Marquis, who subjects Benjamin to a cruel prank. Seeking revenge with the assistance of the dashing Vicomte Hector de Pont-Cassé, Benjamin finds himself in more trouble when the Marquis captures him.
