Bo Svenson
Bo Svenson, born on February 13, 1941, is a Swedish-American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter celebrated for his performances in American genre films during the 1970s and 1980s. He gained early recognition in the late 1960s with a recurring role as the lumberjack Olaf "Big Swede" Gustavsen in the popular TV series Here Come the Brides.
In 1973, Svenson portrayed the Creature in the television film Frankenstein, marking a significant point in his career. His first notable feature film appearance came alongside Robert Redford in The Great Waldo Pepper, where they played rival ex-WWI pilots navigating the thrilling and perilous world of barnstorming in the 1920s.
Following this, Svenson stepped into the shoes of the iconic lawman Buford Pusser, initially played by Joe Don Baker, in the sequels to the successful film Walking Tall after Baker’s unfortunate passing. He later reprised this role in a short-lived television adaptation in 1981.
Among his most recognized roles is Michael McBain, a murder-witness-turned-vigilante, in the cult classic Breaking Point (1976). He also portrayed the Soviet agent Ivan in an episode of Magnum, P.I. titled "Did You See the Sunrise?" (1982). Years later, he made a cameo as an American colonel in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, making him the only actor to appear in both this film and The Inglorious Bastards.
