Paul McGillion, the sixth of seven siblings, was born in Paisley, Scotland, but his family made the journey to Canada when he was only two years old. In his early teenage years, he spent a few years back in Scotland before returning to Canada for good. Paul pursued a degree in Teaching, and during his university years, he actively participated in various sports, notably wrestling.
After earning his degree, he embarked on a career in theatre education in Toronto while juggling auditions in his spare time. This dedication eventually led him to relocate to Vancouver, where he has flourished in the entertainment industry. Over the past twelve years, Paul has built an impressive portfolio in film, television, and theatre.
In addition to his acting career, he also contributed to the training of aspiring actors by teaching scene study at the esteemed Vancouver Film School in 1998 and 1999. Paul McGillion’s journey from a young boy in Scotland to a versatile performer and educator in Canada showcases his passion for the arts and dedication to his craft.
