Todd Stashwick is an accomplished American actor and writer, recognized for his performances as Dale Malloy in The Riches (2007–2008) and Theodore Deacon in 12 Monkeys (2015–2018). In 2023, he portrayed Captain Liam Shaw in the third season of Star Trek: Picard.
Born in Chicago at Swedish Covenant Hospital, Stashwick grew up in the suburbs surrounding the city. From a young age, he had a passion for comedy and dreamed of performing at the renowned Second City. After earning a degree in theatre from Illinois State University, he began showcasing his talent at various local improv theaters. His ambition was realized in 1992 when he joined a national tour with The Second City. Following engagements in Detroit and the Northwest, he moved to New York City, where he auditioned for Saturday Night Live alongside fellow Second City graduate David Koechner.
His move to Los Angeles was driven by opportunities in film and television, leading to appearances in pilots and series like MDs, American Dreams, Rodney, and Still Standing. He gained prominence in The Riches as Minnie Driver's scheming cousin until the show ended in 2008.
In May 2018, Stashwick was cast as Dr. Drakken in the Disney Channel film Kim Possible, which premiered on February 15, 2019. He also featured in a special episode of The George Lucas Talk Show in September 2020.
Stashwick is the co-creator of the webcomic Devil Inside, alongside artist Dennis Calero, launched at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. The comic follows Jack Springheel, also known as The Devil, navigating a crisis of conscience after escaping Hell. Additionally, Stashwick and Calero are developing a pilot called Clandestine for Syfy and co-wrote a canceled Star Wars video game for Electronic Arts and Visceral Games.
