Araceli Jover, known as Arly Jover, was born in Melilla, a Spanish enclave, before her family relocated to Mallorca in the Balearic Islands when she was just five years old, due to her father's military career. As the youngest of seven siblings—four sisters and three brothers—Arly grew up in a bustling family environment.

From a young age, Arly aspired to be a dancer, beginning her training at the age of eight. At the age of 14, she made the bold decision to leave school, and by 15, she secured a scholarship from the Comité Hispano Norteamericano. This opportunity led her to New York City, where she studied at the prestigious School of American Ballet, training under the renowned Martha Graham.

After spending two and a half years in the United States, Arly transitioned to acting around 1995-1996. Her debut came with a role in the TV series "Women: Stories of Passion," followed by appearances in international films such as "Tango" and "The Ballad of Johnny-Jane." Arly continued to build her television career until she made her American film debut in 1998, playing Mercury, the vampire lover of Deacon Frost, in the blockbuster "Blade."
