Malin Maria Åkerman is a Swedish actress, producer, and model known for her versatile talent in both film and television. Her career began in the early 2000s with a variety of minor roles in various Canadian and American productions, such as The Utopian Society (2003) and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004). She gained recognition after appearing in a supporting role in the HBO mockumentary sitcom The Comeback (2005), which led to her first significant roles in romantic comedies like The Heartbreak Kid (2007) and 27 Dresses (2008), along with an uncredited part in The Invasion (2007). Åkerman earned acclaim for her portrayal of Silk Spectre II in the 2009 film Watchmen, earning a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

In the same year, she appeared in notable romantic comedies like The Proposal and Couples Retreat. From 2010 to 2016, she starred in the Adult Swim comedy Childrens Hospital. Her film credits continued with appearances in Wanderlust (2012) and Rock of Ages (2012). In 2013, she took on her first leading television role in the short-lived ABC series Trophy Wife. She later appeared in I'll See You in My Dreams (2015) and Rampage (2018). Since 2016, she has played a prominent role as Lara Axelrod in the Showtime drama Billions.

In addition to her acting and modeling, Åkerman briefly pursued a music career as the lead singer for the alternative rock band The Petalstones in the early 2000s before shifting her focus back to acting. She has been married twice: first to drummer Roberto Zincone from 2007 to 2014, with whom she shares a son, and since 2018 to English actor Jack Donnelly.
