Mary Kay Bergman
Mary Kay Bergman (June 5, 1961 – November 11, 1999), also known by the name Shannen Cassidy, was a prominent American voice actress and educator specializing in voice-over techniques. She was the primary female voice talent for the animated series South Park, lending her voice to the show from its inception in 1997 until her untimely passing. Over the course of her career, Bergman contributed her vocal talents to more than 400 television commercials and brought to life over 100 characters across various cartoons, films, and video games.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Bergman's fascination with fantasy and animation took root in her early years. She participated in high school theater productions and pursued further education in drama at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After facing challenges in landing on-screen roles, she transitioned to voice acting. In 1989, she began voicing the beloved Disney character Snow White. During the 1990s, Bergman took on notable roles such as Daphne Blake in three Scooby-Doo films, as well as voicing Timmy Turner in the Oh Yeah! Cartoons series.
Following her death, her husband Dino Andrade established the Mary Kay Bergman Memorial Fund to honor her legacy and support aspiring voice actors.
