Texas Terri
Texas Terri, born Terri Laird on April 6, 1955, in Austin, Texas, is a prominent figure in the American punk rock scene, celebrated for her dynamic singing, songwriting, and acting talents. She kicked off her musical journey in Hollywood, California, where she established the band The Killer Crows in 1984. Following the group's breakup, she went on to create Texas Terri & The Stiff Ones, releasing the notorious album *Eat Shit* in 1998. She later rebranded her band as Texas Terri Bomb! and produced the provocative album *Your Lips... My Ass!*, which featured the legendary Wayne Kramer from MC5 and was produced by Jack Douglas.
Texas Terri garnered comparisons to the likes of Wendy O. Williams and cultivated a devoted fanbase, thanks to her electrifying and audacious live performances. In addition to her music endeavors, she has also pursued acting, appearing in films such as *8mm* (1999) as Dino’s Redhead, *Starforce* (2000) as the Tattooed Woman, and *Hellbent* (2004) as the Tattoo Shop Woman. Her filmography also includes *Shark in a Bottle* (1999), *I Pass for Human* (2004), and *Klappe Cowboy!* (2012). In 2007, Texas Terri relocated to Berlin, Germany, where she continues to thrive musically, solidifying her status as an iconic figure in the underground punk movement known for her bold stage presence and distinctive style.
