Dylan McDermott, born Mark Anthony McDermott on October 26, 1961, is a prominent American actor celebrated for his compelling performances on both television and film. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Bobby Donnell, a passionate lawyer and head of a law firm, in the acclaimed legal drama series The Practice. His outstanding work on the show earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama, along with a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

McDermott has also made a significant impact on the horror genre through his appearances in multiple seasons of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, where he played various characters such as Ben Harmon, Johnny Morgan, and Bruce across the series' arcs: Murder House, Asylum, Apocalypse, and 1984. Additionally, he portrayed narcotics kingpin Richard Wheatley in the spinoff series Law & Order: Organized Crime, alongside roles as Lt. Carter Shaw in TNT's Dark Blue and in the CBS dramas Hostages and Stalker. His film credits include the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street. In 2022, McDermott took on a leading role in FBI: Most Wanted, stepping in to replace Julian McMahon.
