John Boswall

John Boswall (May 2, 1920 – June 6, 2011) was a distinguished British actor celebrated for his diverse roles in film, television, and theater. His portrayal of Emmanuel Goldstein in the 1984 adaptation of George Orwell's *Nineteen Eighty-Four* remains a standout in his career, as does his appearance as Wyvern in *Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest*.

Born John Stuart in Oxfordshire, England, Boswall pursued his early education at the University of Oxford before serving in Burma during World War II, an experience that would shape his character and resilience.
