In the 1970s, he co-founded the influential comedy group Le Splendid alongside notable talents like Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, and Michel Blanc. This troupe transitioned many of their successful stage productions to the big screen, achieving remarkable popularity with iconic films such as *Les Bronzés* (1978), *Les Bronzés font du ski* (1979), *Le Père Noël est une ordure* (1982), and *Un indien dans la ville* (1994).
