Marisa Tomei

Marisa Tomei, born on December 4, 1964, is a renowned American actress celebrated for her impressive body of work. Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous awards, including an Academy Award, along with two additional nominations for the prestigious honor, a BAFTA Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Tomei first gained recognition through her role on the soap opera As the World Turns, but it was her performance in the spin-off series A Different World in 1987 that propelled her into the spotlight. After a few smaller film roles, she achieved significant fame in 1992 with the comedy My Cousin Vinny, earning her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She followed this success with two more Academy Award nominations for her performances in In the Bedroom (2001) and The Wrestler (2008).
