Gisela "Gila" Freiin von Weitershausen, born on March 21, 1944, in Trebnitz, Lower Silesia (now Trzebnica, Poland), is a well-known German actress hailing from an aristocratic lineage. She is the great-granddaughter of Georg Graf von Hertling, a former Chancellor of Germany, and grew up with three brothers and two sisters.
Gila rose to fame in the late 1960s, capturing the hearts of audiences through her roles in German comedy films, notably alongside actress Uschi Glas. Critics frequently cite her performance in *Circle of Deceit* (1981), directed by Volker Schlöndorff, as one of her finest, sharing the screen with esteemed actors Hanna Schygulla and Bruno Ganz.
Even today, Gila von Weitershausen continues to grace television movies with her talent. She was previously married to actor Martin Lüttge from 1966 to 1972 and had a relationship with director Louis Malle, with whom she shares a son, Manuel Cuotemoc, born in 1971.
