Barry Prima
Hubertus Barry Knoch Prima, popularly known as Barry Prima, was born on August 19, 1954, in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Hailing from a large family as the sixth of ten siblings, he is the son of a Dutch father and an Indonesian mother. Barry gained prominence in the Indonesian film industry during the 1980s, establishing himself as a talented actor and martial artist.
His cinematic journey commenced with the film *Primitif* in 1978, but his breakthrough role came in 1981 when he embodied the legendary character Jaka Sembung in *Jaka Sembung Sang Penakluk*. This performance catapulted him into stardom, and over the years, he has appeared in more than 60 films, including notable titles such as *Srigala* (1981), *The Devil's Sword* (1984), and *Menumpas Teroris* (1986). His martial arts proficiency, especially in taekwondo, greatly enhanced his capability to perform in action-packed roles.
In his personal life, Barry was previously married to actress Eva Arnaz, although their union ended in divorce. In a distressing incident in 2023, Barry's daughter, Feony Elizabeth, was reported missing for two days, but fortunately, she was safely located.
With his remarkable contributions to Indonesian cinema, Barry Prima continues to be celebrated as a legendary figure in the country's film landscape.
