Takumi Saitoh
Takumi Saitoh (斎藤工, Saitō Takumi), born on August 22, 1981, in Tokyo, Japan, is a versatile figure in the Japanese entertainment industry, known for his work as an actor, singer, and model. Saitoh began his acting journey in 1992 with a minor role in the television drama *Ippai no kakesoba*. He soon gained prominence as a model, representing prestigious brands such as Calvin Klein and Issey Miyake.
In 2001, he made a significant mark in film with his role in *Toki no kaori: Remember Me*, a Japanese adaptation of the Korean film *Ditto*. His portrayal of Yūshi Oshitari in the 2006 musical *The Prince of Tennis* further solidified his status in the acting realm. That same year, he starred as Shūya Arisada in the drama *Princess Princess D*, based on Mikiyo Tsuda's acclaimed manga.
Saitoh's breakout role came with the direct-to-video film *BOYS LOVE*, where he played Noeru Kisaragi, a magazine editor entangled with a young model. This film was pivotal in shaping discussions around homosexual relationships in Japanese media. Following its success, he featured in *Sukitomo* and *Itsuka no kimi e*, both released in 2007, showcasing his ability to portray nuanced LGBTQ+ characters.
To diversify his portfolio and avoid typecasting, Saitoh took on lighter roles, including a part in the 2007 drama *Delicious Gakuin*. He also appeared in the 2009 graduation special of *Gokusen* and participated in the 2011 adaptation of *HANA-KIMI*, continuing to demonstrate his range and talent in the industry.
