Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan, born Chan Kong-sang on April 7, 1954, in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong, is a multifaceted talent recognized globally as an actor, director, producer, martial artist, and stunt performer. Emerging in the film industry in the 1970s, Chan has starred in over 100 movies, captivating audiences with his unique blend of acrobatic fighting, comedic flair, and inventive stunts.

His early life was shaped by his parents, Charles and Lee-Lee Chan, who were refugees from the Chinese Civil War. Nicknamed "Paopao" for his hefty birth weight, Chan grew up in the consular residence, where he developed a passion for performance. At the age of six, he began rigorous training at the China Drama Academy, mastering martial arts and acrobatics. This training led him to join the Seven Little Fortunes, a renowned performance group, where he formed lifelong friendships with fellow performers Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, collectively known as the "Three Dragons."

Chan gained prominence in the film industry as a stuntman in Bruce Lee's classics, "Fist of Fury" and "Enter the Dragon." His breakout role came in 1973 with "Little Tiger of Canton." Throughout his illustrious career, he has received numerous accolades, including stars on the Hong Kong Avenue of Stars and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Additionally, Chan has enjoyed success as a singer in Cantopop and Mandopop, contributing to the soundtracks of many of his films, solidifying his status as a cultural icon.
