Dorothy Comingore, born Mary Louise Comingore on August 24, 1913, was a notable American actress whose career reached its peak with her role as Susan Alexander Kane in the iconic film Citizen Kane (1941), directed by Orson Welles. Before adopting her famous stage name, she was credited as Linda Winters and performed on stage under the name Kay Winters. Unfortunately, her promising career was cut short due to her involvement with the Hollywood blacklist. In 1952, she faced the House Un-American Activities Committee, where she chose not to respond to inquiries. Dorothy Comingore passed away on December 30, 1971, leaving behind a legacy marked by her remarkable contribution to cinema.
