The Hairy Ape (1944)

Plot

Aboard a ship, a pampered woman, portrayed by Susan Hayward, looks down on a rough-hewn stoker, played by William Bendix, as he toils away. Their worlds collide when her scornful remarks spark a deep existential crisis within him.
