Andrés Perelló de Segurola, known professionally as Andrés de Segurola, was a distinguished Spanish operatic bass, born on March 27, 1874. His career in music flourished during his tenure with the Metropolitan Opera Company from 1901 to 1920, where he captivated audiences with his powerful voice and commanding stage presence.

In addition to his operatic contributions, De Segurola ventured into the film industry later in his career, showcasing his artistic versatility. As he approached the latter part of his time at the Metropolitan Opera, he expanded his role in the arts by becoming an impresario. In 1916, he successfully organized a four-week opera season at the Grand National Theatre in Havana, featuring prominent artists such as Geraldine Farrar and Pasquale Amato, which underscored his influence in the operatic community.

After retiring from performing, he dedicated himself to teaching vocal techniques, nurturing the talents of numerous aspiring singers, among whom was the renowned Deanna Durbin. His legacy in the world of opera and vocal performance continued to resonate long after his passing on January 23, 1953.
