Clio Goldsmith, born on June 16, 1957, is a former French actress renowned for her roles as a femme fatale in several films during the early 1980s. She hails from the distinguished Goldsmith family, with her father, Edward Goldsmith, being a noted ecologist. Additionally, she was once married to British travel writer Mark Shand, making her a former sister-in-law to Queen Camilla.

Goldsmith made her acting debut in the 1980 film "The Cricket," directed by Alberto Lattuada, where she portrayed a carefree young woman who ultimately turns to prostitution. In 1981, she took on the role of Clemence, a prostitute, in Mauro Bolognini’s "The Lady of the Camellias," sharing the screen with acclaimed actress Isabelle Huppert. In "Plein sud," she seduces her co-star Patrick Dewaere, further establishing her on-screen allure.

Her performance in the 1982 comedy "Bankers Also Have Souls" catapulted her to international recognition. In this film, produced by her cousin Gilbert de Goldschmidt, Goldsmith stars as a stunning call girl gifted to a retiring banker, alongside notable actors Pierre Mondy and Claudia Cardinale. After a brief but impactful career, she retired from acting following two additional roles and appearances in the Italian adult magazine Playmen.

Goldsmith was married to Italian entrepreneur Carlo Alessandro Puri Negri from 1982 to 1985, with whom she shares a daughter, Talita. In 1990, she wed Mark Shand, and they welcomed a daughter, Ayesha, before their divorce in 2010.
