Aleksandr Gorchilin
Aleksandr Gorchilin is a multifaceted stage and film performer, video artist, and director, recognized for his dynamic contributions to the arts. In 2008, he began his formal training at the prestigious Moscow Art Theatre School under the guidance of Kirill Serebrennikov. Since 2012, he has been a prominent figure at the Gogol Centre, showcasing his talent on stage.
Gorchilin gained significant attention for his role in Valeria Gai Germanika's film “Yes and Yes,” further solidifying his reputation with a notable performance in Serebrennikov’s critically acclaimed film “The Student” (2016), which earned him a nomination for the prestigious NIKA Award for Best Supporting Actor.
In 2015, he ventured into directing with his documentary film “#KOMUNARUSIZHITKHOROSHO,” which garnered a special jury mention at the Dvizhenie [Movement] festival, highlighting his capabilities behind the camera. The following year, Gorchilin further expanded his artistic horizons by collaborating as a co-author and video artist on the opera production “Iolantha. OPUS” alongside Filipp Avdeev and Igor Bychkov. He also released his second documentary, “Russian Fairy Tales,” which showcases his continued exploration of storytelling through film. Gorchilin’s diverse body of work reflects his commitment to innovative artistic expression in contemporary culture.
