Janette Bertrand

Janette Bertrand, born on March 25, 1925, in Montréal, is a distinguished figure in Québec's media landscape, known for her multifaceted career as a journalist, actress, educator, and author. She honed her craft in journalism at the Université de Montréal, laying a strong foundation for her future endeavors. Bertrand spent 16 years at the Petit Journal, where she gained valuable experience that propelled her into the realm of radio.

In the early 1950s, she transitioned to radio, taking the helm of the popular program Déjeuner en musique on Radio-Canada. Her personal life intertwined with her professional one when she married actor Jean Lajeunesse. The couple co-hosted the radio shows Jean et Janette and Mon mari et nous at CKAC, showcasing their chemistry and charisma.
