William Sanford "Bill" Nye, widely recognized as Bill Nye the Science Guy, is an influential American science educator, television personality, and mechanical engineer. He first captured the public's imagination as the host of the beloved PBS educational series Bill Nye the Science Guy, which aired from 1993 to 1998. This show not only entertained children but also ignited a passion for science in countless young viewers.

Nye currently serves as the CEO of The Planetary Society, the largest non-profit organization dedicated to space advocacy, boasting members from over 130 countries. Co-founded by renowned astronomer Carl Sagan, the organization aims to empower citizens to promote space science and exploration. Bill has been an active member since 1980 and has played a crucial role in significant projects such as LightSail®, showcasing his expertise in engineering and management.
