He gained prominence in the wrestling world as “Jesse 'The Body' Ventura,” performing from 1975 to 1986 and eventually becoming a celebrated commentator. His contributions to the WWE earned him a place in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.

Ventura's early life included service in the United States Navy's Underwater Demolition Team during the Vietnam War. After his military career, he transitioned to wrestling, where his flamboyant persona captured the audience's attention. Beyond the ring, he ventured into acting, featuring in iconic films such as "Predator" and "The Running Man."

His political career began in 1991 when he became the mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, serving until 1995. In 1998, he made headlines by winning the Minnesota gubernatorial election as the Reform Party candidate, marking a significant upset against traditional party nominees. As the 38th governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003, Ventura implemented significant reforms, including property tax changes, sales tax rebates, and the initiation of the METRO Blue Line light rail project.

Post-governorship, Ventura shifted to academia and media, serving as a visiting fellow at Harvard and hosting political shows on various platforms. He has been an advocate for third-party politics and briefly explored a run with the Green Party in 2020.
