Plot

In 2017, the world faces economic ruin and the United States has devolved into a harsh totalitarian regime that suppresses cultural expression. To keep the public subdued, the government airs various brutal game shows featuring death-row inmates who compete for survival. Among these is the deadly spectacle known as The Running Man, overseen by the merciless host Damon Killian. Here, contestants, dubbed "runners," must dodge lethal hunters known as "stalkers," risking everything for a slim chance at freedom and clemency.
