Pran Sikand

Pran Krishan Sikand, popularly known as Pran, was born on February 12, 1920. He is a celebrated Indian actor renowned for his memorable portrayals of villains in Hindi cinema. With a prolific career spanning over 350 films, Pran became a household name, captivating audiences with his powerful performances. He starred in notable films such as *Pilpili Saheb*, *Halaku* (1956), *Dharma* (1973), *Jangal Mein Mangal* (1972), *Gaddar*, and *Ek Kunwari Ek Kunwara* (1973).

His significant contributions to cinema include standout roles in classics like *Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai* (1960), *Half Ticket* (1962), and Manoj Kumar's *Upkaar* (1967). His talent shone through in films like *Zanjeer* (1973), *Amar Akbar Anthony* (1977), and *Don* (1978), earning him accolades and a special place in the hearts of moviegoers. Recognized for his work, Pran received multiple Filmfare Awards, including the Best Supporting Actor Award in 1967, 1969, and 1972, along with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. In 2001, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his contributions to the film industry.

Beyond his cinematic achievements, Pran was socially active and even owned a football team, the Bombay Dynamos Football Club. In 2010, he was recognized as one of CNN's "Top 25 Asian actors of all time," solidifying his legacy in Indian cinema.
