Nick Fuentes
Nicholas Joseph Fuentes, born on August 18, 1998, in La Grange Park, Illinois, has emerged as a prominent figure in the far-right political landscape of the United States. Known for his role as a political commentator, activist, and live streamer, Fuentes leads a movement known as the Groypers and identifies as a Christian nationalist with authoritarian leanings. His controversial viewpoints have led to descriptions of him as a neo-Nazi, with allegations of promoting white supremacist, misogynistic, antisemitic, and Islamophobic ideologies.
Fuentes began his political activism in 2016 and launched his web series "America First" in 2017. In 2019, he gained notoriety for his role in the Groyper War, where his followers disrupted events hosted by conservative figures like Charlie Kirk. Seeking to establish an alternative to the Conservative Political Action Conference, he initiated the annual America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) in 2020.
Notably, Fuentes made headlines in November 2022 when he dined with Kanye West and Donald Trump, a meeting that sparked widespread backlash from various political commentators. Throughout 2024, he became increasingly critical of Trump, leading to the launch of "Groyper War 2," a campaign aimed at influencing Trump's presidential run through digital activism. Fuentes has faced significant controversies, including his involvement in the 2017 Charlottesville rally and the January 6 Capitol attack. He has experienced deplatforming from major social media outlets due to hate speech violations and faced legal troubles, including an arrest in late 2024 for battery. In a shocking incident later that year, Fuentes survived an assassination attempt at his home.
