Jason Beghe
Jason Deneen Beghe, born on March 12, 1960, is a prominent American actor known for his impactful roles in both film and television, as well as for his outspoken criticisms of Scientology. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Sergeant Hank Voight in NBC's acclaimed series *Chicago P.D.* and made his film debut in George A. Romero's 1988 thriller *Monkey Shines*. His film credits also include a notable role as Demi Moore's love interest in *G.I. Jane* and a police officer in the iconic film *Thelma & Louise*. On television, Beghe showcased his versatility with guest appearances in successful series such as *Picket Fences*, *Melrose Place*, and *Californication*, along with a starring role opposite Moira Kelly in *To Have & to Hold*.
Beghe's involvement with Scientology began in 1994, leading him to briefly become a prominent figure within the church. However, he distanced himself from Scientology in 2007 and began sharing his experiences publicly, notably through an interview with journalist Mark Bunker that gained significant attention online. This candid revelation earned him the title of a whistleblower regarding the church, as highlighted by Marina Hyde of The Guardian.
During his formative years, Beghe attended the Collegiate School in New York City, where he forged friendships with notable figures, including John F. Kennedy, Jr. and David Duchovny.
