Rosemary La Planche
Rosemary E. LaPlanche (October 11, 1923 – May 6, 1979) was a distinguished American beauty queen and actress, renowned for her remarkable achievements in the pageant world and her contributions to film and television. LaPlanche's journey began in Kansas, but she relocated to Southern California with her mother and sister, Louise. She quickly made a name for herself, winning the title of Miss California consecutively in 1940 and 1941, before capturing the coveted Miss America crown in 1941. Following her victory, a new regulation prohibited any contestant from competing at the national level more than once, marking her as a standout in pageant history.
In addition to her pageant success, LaPlanche pursued a career in acting, featuring in films such as "Angels' Alley" and making appearances in popular television series, including "The Donna Reed Show."
