Maria do Céu Ribeiro

Maria do Céu Ribeiro is a talented actress renowned for her contributions to the theatrical scene. She graduated from the Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo (ACE) in Porto in 1993, where she honed her craft in acting. Her professional journey began in 1994 with a notable performance in William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” directed by the esteemed Silviu Purcărete at Teatro Nacional S. João.

As a co-founder of the theater company As Boas Raparigas, Ribeiro has played a pivotal role in bringing various productions to life. Her impressive repertoire includes performances in works such as Javier Tomeo’s “Historias Mínimas,” Alberto Moravia’s “Paradise,” and Plato’s “Phaedo.” She has also starred in several plays by Howard Barker, including “Dead Hands,” “Deep Wives/Shallow Animals,” and “Und,” all under the direction of Rogério de Carvalho.

In addition to her acting career, Ribeiro has been imparting her knowledge to aspiring performers as a teacher of voice and oral expression at ACE since 1998.
