Plot

In 1907, Dr. Afonso arrives on Principe Island with the intention of treating workers from a cocoa plantation suffering from Banzo, a deep-rooted nostalgia that leads to starvation and even suicide. These individuals are isolated in the forest, and Afonso resolves to help them by delving into the emotional pain that plagues their spirits. Can he find a way to heal their wounds and save them from their despair?
