Robert Bernard Reich, born on June 24, 1946, is a prominent American academic, author, attorney, and political analyst. He held significant positions in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter and served as Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, he was a member of the economic transition advisory board for President Barack Obama.

Since January 2006, Reich has been the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this, he taught at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and was a professor at Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management. In 2008, Time magazine recognized him as one of the Ten Best Cabinet Members of the 20th century, while The Wall Street Journal ranked him sixth among the Most Influential Business Thinkers.

Reich is the author of 18 books, translated into 22 languages, with notable works including The Work of Nations, Reason, Saving Capitalism, Supercapitalism, Aftershock: The Next Economy and America's Future, and the popular e-book Beyond Outrage. He also chairs the board of Common Cause and maintains a blog focused on political economy at Robertreich.org.

His collaboration with Jacob Kornbluth produced the Netflix Original film Saving Capitalism, released in November 2017, and their documentary Inequality for All received the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Achievement in Filmmaking at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. In 2015, Reich and Kornbluth established Inequality Media, a nonprofit focused on raising awareness about issues surrounding inequality and power dynamics in America.
