Heather Menzies Urich (December 3, 1949 – December 24, 2017) was a talented Canadian-American actress and model celebrated for her memorable role as Louisa von Trapp in the beloved 1965 musical film, The Sound of Music. Born in Toronto, Canada, Heather relocated to the United States at the age of eleven, where she completed her education at Hollywood High School and later pursued her studies at Falcon Studio's University of the Arts.

Menzies made a noteworthy entrance into the film industry with her portrayal of Louisa, which quickly established her as a rising star. She shared the screen with Julie Andrews again in the 1966 drama Hawaii. Transitioning into the 1970s, Heather redefined her on-screen persona, embracing a more daring image. Her appearance in a nude pictorial for Playboy in August 1973 marked a significant shift in her career. She showcased her versatility in the quirky horror film Sssssss (1973) and earned acclaim as the spirited Jessica in the cult classic Piranha (1978).

On television, Heather gained widespread recognition for her role in the short-lived yet popular sci-fi series Logan's Run (1977). Over her career, she guest-starred in numerous shows, including The Love Boat, T.J. Hooker, and Bonanza. Menzies also collaborated with her husband, actor Robert Urich, in multiple projects. A devoted advocate for cancer research, she worked with the Urich Fund for Sarcoma Research.
