Ken Jenkins
Ken Jenkins, born on August 28, 1940, is a distinguished American actor celebrated primarily for his portrayal of Dr. Bob Kelso, the sardonic Chief of Medicine on the acclaimed television series Scrubs.
In 1969, Jenkins played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Actors Theatre of Louisville, where he held the position of Associate Artistic Director for three years. This theater has been a launching pad for notable playwrights including Beth Henley and Marsha Norman. Jenkins' television career includes appearances in various series such as Adult Math, Homefront, The X-Files (notably in the episode "Medusa"), and Babylon 5. He also featured in the iconic Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Evolution" and made guest appearances in the series Sliders.
His filmography includes significant roles in a variety of films such as Executive Decision, The Abyss, and Air America, as well as parts in Gone in 60 Seconds and the 1998 remake of Psycho. Jenkins also portrayed Fran Goldsmith's father in Stephen King’s miniseries The Stand and appeared in the film Clockstoppers.
In addition to his acting prowess, Jenkins is musically inclined, showcasing his singing and acoustic guitar skills in the Scrubs episodes "My Tuscaloosa Heart" and "My Musical." Since October 27, 2010, he has enjoyed a recurring role on Cougar Town as Jules’ father, further solidifying his status in the entertainment industry.
