Matthias Schoenaerts

Matthias Schoenaerts, born on December 8, 1977, is a talented Belgian actor who began his film career at the tender age of 13 with a role in the critically acclaimed film Daens (1992), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. He gained widespread recognition for his compelling performances in various films, including his portrayal of Filip in Loft (2008) and Jacky Vanmarsenille in the Oscar-nominated Bullhead (2011). His role as Ali in the BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated Rust and Bone (2012) earned him the César Award for Most Promising Actor, further establishing his reputation in the industry.

Schoenaerts continued to impress audiences with his diverse roles, including Eric Deeds in The Drop (2014), Bruno von Falk in Suite Française (2015), and Gabriel Oak in Far from the Madding Crowd (2015).
