Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, originally named Neil Andrew Megson, was born on February 22, 1950, and passed away on March 14, 2020. A multifaceted English artist, P-Orridge gained recognition as a singer-songwriter, musician, writer, and visual artist. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, P-Orridge's provocative work with the performance group COUM Transmissions, alongside the industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle, sparked significant controversy. Their daring approach tackled taboo subjects including prostitution, serial killers, occult practices, and P-Orridge's personal exploration of gender identity.

P-Orridge later founded the band Psychic TV, which achieved mainstream success with several hit singles and expanded their artistic influence. Over their prolific career, P-Orridge was involved in more than 200 music releases, cementing their legacy in the avant-garde and industrial music scenes.

P-Orridge was a devoted parent to two daughters, Caresse and Genesse, from a previous marriage to Paula P-Orridge (née Alaura O'Dell). In 1993, P-Orridge married Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge, and together they embarked on a project to transform into a single entity known as Breyer P-Orridge, merging their identities into one. Following Lady Jaye's passing in 2007, Genesis continued to honor this unique endeavor, leaving an indelible mark on contemporary art and music.
