Betty Pei Ti

Betty Pei Ti, born Han Pai-chou on November 10, 1951, in Yilan City, Taiwan, is a renowned Chinese actress celebrated for her significant contributions to Hong Kong cinema, particularly through her association with the illustrious Shaw Brothers Studio.

Her journey into acting began in 1971 when she was performing with a Chinese arts troupe in Hong Kong. It was during this tour that she caught the eye of director Chor Yuen, who cast her in the groundbreaking film "Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan." Released in 1972, this film marked a pivotal moment in cinema as it was one of the first to explore themes of homosexuality, showcasing Pei Ti's talent alongside actress Lily Ho. Her compelling performance not only garnered her acclaim but also led to her becoming a favored actress at Shaw Brothers.

Throughout the 1970s, Betty Pei Ti expanded her repertoire, transitioning into Taiwanese cinema by the end of the decade.
