Tonya Williams
Tonya Williams, born in London, UK, is the only child of Lloyd G. Williams, a former Supreme Court Justice of the British Virgin Islands and St. Kitts, and Korah H. Williams, a retired Registered Nurse. Both of her parents hail from Jamaica and met while studying at university in the UK. When Tonya was just a year and a half old, the family relocated to Kingston, Jamaica, where her father established his legal practice. At the tender age of four and a half, Tonya faced a medical challenge when she contracted Rheumatic Fever, leading to a six-month hospitalization. Following her recovery, her parents divorced, prompting her mother to return to the UK with Tonya. They settled in Birmingham, where Tonya received her education at private institutions, including York House and Greenmoore College.
At the age of 12, Tonya and her mother moved to Oshawa, Canada, just outside Toronto. It was during her high school years that she embarked on her acting career. At 16, she landed her first television commercial for the Bank of Nova Scotia, quickly followed by a notable role in the Milk "Wear A Moustache" campaign, which gained her widespread recognition across Canada. After completing high school, she pursued further studies in drama at Ryerson University in Toronto, laying the foundation for her successful career in the entertainment industry.
