Art Carney
Arthur William Matthew Carney (November 4, 1918 – November 9, 2003) was a celebrated American actor and comedian. He earned significant acclaim throughout his career, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and six Primetime Emmy Awards. Carney is perhaps most recognized for his portrayal of Ed Norton in the classic television series The Honeymooners, which aired from 1955 to 1956.
In addition to his television success, Carney had a diverse film career. He starred in notable movies such as Harry and Tonto (1974), The Late Show (1977), and House Calls (1978). He continued to make an impact on cinema with performances in Going in Style (1979), Firestarter, and The Muppets Take Manhattan, both released in 1984, as well as Last Action Hero (1993).
