Maria Tucci burst onto the Broadway scene in 1963 with her debut in *The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore*. Over the years, she has accumulated an impressive roster of fourteen Broadway credits. Notably, she portrayed Rose Delle Rose alongside Maureen Stapleton in the 1966 production of Tennessee Williams' *The Rose Tattoo*. Tucci demonstrated her versatility in 1967 by taking on the role of Alexandra Giddens in a revival of Lillian Hellman's *The Little Foxes*, sharing the stage with Anne Bancroft. In 1969, she stepped in for Jane Alexander in *The Great White Hope*, and by 1988, she captivated audiences as Hannah Jelkes in a revival of *The Night of the Iguana*. More recently, in 2009, she appeared in the production of *Mary Stuart* as Hanna.

Tucci's film career began in 1969, with her early appearances in Robert Frank's *Me and My Brother* and a CBS Playhouse production called *Shadow Game*. She gained further acclaim for her role as Lisa in Sidney Lumet's 1983 film *Daniel* and later as Angela Maretto in Gus Van Sant's *To Die For* in 1995. Her talents earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for *The Rose Tattoo* and an OBIE Award for her portrayal of Phaedo in Carl Hancock Rux's *Talk* at the Joseph Papp Public Theater. In 2015, she played Koula in the mini-series *The Slap*, further showcasing her range as an actress.
