Barry Shabaka Henley, born Barry Joseph Henley on September 15, 1954, is a distinguished American character actor celebrated for his versatile performances across film and television. He is particularly recognized for his collaborations with acclaimed director Michael Mann, having worked together on four distinct projects.

Henley is well-remembered for his portrayal of Herbert Muhammad in the biographical film *Ali* and for his poignant role as a jazz musician facing mortality in *Collateral*. He showcased his talent in Steven Spielberg’s *The Terminal* and took on the role of Lt. Martin Castillo in the iconic series *Miami Vice*, succeeding Edward James Olmos. His television credits also include appearances in the short-lived series *Robbery Homicide Division* and *Barbershop*. Since 2009, Henley has been a recurring character, FBI Agent Vreede, in the ABC series *FlashForward*, and he played Buddy in *How Stella Got Her Groove Back*.
