Nils Tavernier
Nils Tavernier, born on September 1, 1965, in Normandy, France, is a notable French actor and director. He hails from a prominent artistic lineage as the son of acclaimed filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier. Nils made his acting debut at a young age in his father’s film, Spoiled Children (1977). He gained recognition through his roles in films such as Beatrice (1987), Valmont (1988), and Revenge of the Musketeers (1994), further showcasing his talent in Claude Chabrol’s Story of Women (1988) and in other notable productions like L.627 (1991) and After Sex (1996).
Transitioning to directing, Tavernier's career flourished with his work on short films and documentaries. His passion for dance was beautifully captured in Etoiles: Dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet (2001). He co-directed the documentary Histoires de vies brisées: les 'double peine' de Lyon (2001) alongside his father. In 2009, he explored the intriguing subject of twin studies in The Mystery of Twins, which he co-authored with Marie-Noelle Humbert.
